Spinal Flow Technique for Dogs, Cats & Horses

What is Spinal Flow Technique?
Spinal Flow Technique is a gentle yet powerful healing modality founded by Chiropractor, Dr. Carli Axford.
The modality works through the nervous system to release stored stressors in the body, chemical, physical, and emotional. This technique helps to restore natural energy flow, allowing the body to heal, regenerate, and function at its best.
How Does This Benefit Animals?
Just like humans, animals accumulate stress over time from various sources:
- Chemical Stressors – Exposure to toxins, medications, vaccinations, and environmental pollutants.
- Physical Stressors – Injuries, poor posture, repetitive strain, or trauma.
- Emotional Stressors – Anxiety, fear, past trauma, and changes in environment or routine.
These stressors create blockages in the nervous system, which can lead to discomfort, behavioral changes, and a decline in overall health. Spinal Flow helps to gently release these blockages, restoring calm, balance, and natural healing.
The Spinal Flow Technique works by identifying areas of restriction or blockage along the spine, known as “spinal blockages.” Through light touch applied to specific points, known as Spinal Gateways, this method activates the body’s natural healing response, allowing cerebrospinal fluid to move freely and nourish the nervous system.
Why Dogs and Horses?
Animals communicate their discomfort in ways we may not always recognise restlessness, anxiety, behavioral changes, stiffness, or pain.
Horses, in particular, are incredibly sensitive to energy and nervous system imbalances, while dogs can hold onto stress from trauma, aging, or illness.
Spinal Flow offers a non-invasive, soothing approach to help them feel more at ease, free-moving, and pain-free.
Both dogs, cats and horses, like humans, experience physical, chemical, and emotional stress that can manifest as tension and misalignment within the spinal column. These stressors can disrupt the optimal function of the nervous system, leading to issues such as stiffness, behavioral changes, reduced mobility, chronic pain, and even organ dysfunction.
Benefits for Dogs and Horses
When applied to animals, the Spinal Flow Technique can lead to profound improvements, including:
- Pain Relief/ No Pain: Eases musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, and joint stiffness.
- Improved Mobility: Enhances flexibility and range of motion, especially beneficial for aging or performance animals.
- Stress Reduction: Alleviates tension caused by emotional trauma, past injuries, or environmental stressors.
- Enhanced Nervous System Function: Supports overall health by optimising communication between the brain and body.
- Boosted Immune System: Helps the body to heal naturally and efficiently, reducing susceptibility to illness.
- Behavioral Improvements: Reduces anxiety, restlessness, and other stress-related behaviors in dogs and horses.
It is an excellent complementary therapy for both preventative care and rehabilitation following an injury or surgery.
