Spinal Flow for Pregnancy
Pregnancy brings significant physical, emotional and lifestyle changes, and every woman’s experience is different.
Spinal Flow Technique provides a gentle, non-invasive wellbeing session focused on relaxation and supporting nervous system regulation throughout pregnancy.
There is no cracking, manipulation or force.
Supportive positioning and pregnancy pillows can be used to help you remain comfortable as your body changes throughout each trimester.
If you have pregnancy complications, have been advised to restrict particular activities or have any concerns about whether Spinal Flow is appropriate for you, please speak with your maternity healthcare provider before booking.
Preparing for Pregnancy
The period before pregnancy can also be a time when women become more aware of their stress levels, sleep, emotional wellbeing and overall health.
Spinal Flow may be used as a complementary wellbeing approach during this time, with the focus on relaxation and supporting nervous system regulation.
Spinal Flow is not a fertility treatment and does not replace fertility investigations, medical treatment or advice from your healthcare team.
If you are undergoing IVF or other fertility treatment, please discuss complementary wellbeing approaches with your treating practitioner.
Spinal Flow for Babies
A baby’s Spinal Flow session is very different from an adult session.
Sessions are gentle, brief and adapted specifically to the baby’s age, comfort and needs.
There is no cracking, manipulation, force or spinal adjustment.
The focus is simply on gentle contact and providing a calm, comfortable environment for baby and parent.
Because babies cannot communicate symptoms in the same way as adults, concerns involving feeding, reflux, persistent crying, sleep, development, movement, fever, illness or changes in your baby’s behaviour should always be discussed with your GP, paediatrician, child and family health nurse or another appropriate healthcare professional.
Spinal Flow is offered as a complementary wellbeing approach and does not replace appropriate healthcare for your baby.
Baby sessions are generally very short and may take approximately five minutes.
Initial Baby Session – $20
Spinal Flow for Children
Children experience stress too.
Growing bodies, school, friendships, sport, busy schedules and everyday changes can all influence how a child feels.
Spinal Flow provides a gentle, fully clothed wellbeing session adapted to your child’s age, comfort and individual needs.
There is:
- No cracking
- No popping
- No manipulation
- No force
Sessions for younger children are generally shorter than adult sessions and are always guided by how comfortable the child is on the day.
Spinal Flow is not intended to diagnose or treat childhood medical, developmental or mental health conditions.
If you have concerns about your child’s health, development, behaviour, pain or emotional wellbeing, please seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.
Initial Child Session – $40-$50 depending on age
Spinal Flow for Teenagers
Teenagers are navigating an enormous amount of change.
School pressures, friendships, sport, technology, changing sleep patterns and the physical and emotional changes of adolescence can all contribute to feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
Spinal Flow offers a gentle, fully clothed wellbeing session focused on relaxation and supporting nervous system regulation.
There is no cracking, manipulation or force.
Spinal Flow is not a treatment for depression, anxiety or other mental health conditions.
If your teenager is experiencing persistent anxiety, depression, significant changes in mood or behaviour, thoughts of self-harm, withdrawal from everyday activities or other mental health concerns, please seek support from your GP or an appropriate mental health professional.
Spinal Flow may be considered as a complementary wellbeing approach alongside appropriate professional care.
Initial Teenager Session – $65
Support After Pregnancy & Birth
The period following pregnancy and birth can involve enormous physical, emotional and lifestyle changes.
Spinal Flow can provide a gentle opportunity to slow down, relax and support nervous system regulation while your body adjusts during the postnatal period.
Sessions are adapted according to your comfort and stage of recovery.
Spinal Flow does not replace appropriate postnatal healthcare.
If you experience persistent sadness, anxiety, difficulty bonding, hopelessness, significant pain, heavy bleeding or concerns about your physical or emotional recovery following birth, please speak with your GP, midwife or another appropriate healthcare professional.
Accessible Spinal Flow Sessions
Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and respected when accessing wellbeing support.
Spinal Flow sessions can be adapted for people living with disability, mobility challenges or anyone who finds traditional treatment-table positioning difficult or uncomfortable.
Depending on your individual needs, a session may be provided:
- Lying comfortably
- Side-lying
- Seated
- In another appropriate position that provides comfortable access to the spine
You do not have to remain face-down on a treatment table if that position isn’t comfortable or appropriate for you.
Please let me know about any accessibility, mobility, sensory or positioning requirements when booking so we can discuss how to make your session as comfortable as possible.
Concession rates are available.
Gentle Care, Adapted to the Individual
Whether the session is for you, your baby, your child or teenager, the approach is always adapted to the person.
Comfort comes first.
There is no cracking, manipulation or force, and you are always welcome to ask questions before or during a session.
Spinal Flow is offered as a complementary wellbeing approach and is not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis or treatment.
